In the late afternoon, you’ll hop back in the car for a little drive and then explore the area on foot. You’ll wander between massive granite hills that look like they go on forever. Hidden in a peaceful valley, you’ll discover the quiet ruins of another small monastery—like finding a secret place from a storybook.

Today we’re heading to the town of Dalanzadgad in the South Gobi province—your gateway to the legendary Gobi Desert! The Gobi is HUGE. It stretches across Mongolia and China, reaching 1,610 km from one end to the other. It’s the fifth-largest desert in the world and the biggest one in Asia! But here’s a surprise: most of the Gobi isn’t sand dunes—it’s rocky, wild, and full of secrets. In winter, the Gobi becomes a cold desert. Snow and frost can cover the dunes, and because it sits high on a big plateau, temperatures can get chilly. The Gobi only gets about 194 mm of rain a year, and in winter, snow blowing down from the Siberian Steppes adds a little extra moisture. Temperatures can swing from a freezing –40°C in winter all the way up to a scorching +50°C in summer! On the way, we’ll travel through the majestic Altai Mountains and explore their incredible gorges. One of the highlights is Yolyn Am, a beautiful green valley inside Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, carved long ago by ancient rivers.

Keep your eyes open—this area is home to some amazing wildlife! You might spot Argali wild sheep, Ibex, desert gazelles, and even Golden Eagles and Vultures soaring high above. Adventure, wildlife, and epic landscapes—today has it all.

Accommodation:

  • Yurt stay with basic showers and toilet (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included)

Activities:

  • Explore the park’s small but informative museum
  • Visit the beautiful Yolyn Am
  • Take a discovery hike through the gorge
  • 350 km, which is about a 6-hour drive through the stunning Gobi landscapes.

Khongoryn Els

After breakfast, we’ll head 180 kilometers west to Khongoryn Els, home to Mongolia’s biggest and most amazing sand dunes! Some of these golden giants are as tall as 275 meters. The dunes stretch over 100 kilometers, and their smooth, curving shapes look just like giant waves frozen in the desert. Behind them rises the dark, rocky Sevrey Mountain, making the whole place look like a scene from an adventure movie.

The Gobi Desert is the coldest desert in the world, with strong icy winds blowing through most of the year. Because there's not much shelter, people living here have learned incredible survival skills. Gobi nomads are famous for being super hardworking and tough.

You’ll get to meet some of these amazing families who raise two-humped Bactrian camels. Their lifestyle is simple, humble, and full of tradition—you’ll see how they live, work, and care for their animals in this extreme environment.

  • Explore the giant Khongoryn Els sand dunes
  • Hike up the tallest dune (if you’re up for the challenge!)

Bayanzag
Bayanzag- the Flaming Cliffs

Today we’re heading to Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs—and yes, they really do look like they’re on fire when the sun hits them! This is the famous spot where explorer and palaeontologist Roy Chapman Andrews discovered real dinosaur bones and eggs nearly a hundred years ago. It’s one of Mongolia’s coolest dinosaur sites.

The landscape here is amazing: glowing red cliffs, jagged shapes carved by time, and patches of green hiding between the rocks. We’ll walk around the cliffs, explore the area, and visit the local museum to learn all about the exciting discoveries and daring expeditions from the early 1900s.

Accommodation:

  • Yurt stay with basic showers and toilet (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Activities:

  • Explore the legendary Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs, where dinosaur skeletons and eggs were found

Tsagaan Suvarga
Tsagaan Suvarga

After breakfast, get ready—today we’re off on another Gobi Desert adventure! As we drive, you’ll watch the world transform right outside your window: bright green grasslands slowly fade into rocky, empty desert landscapes. By the afternoon, we’ll arrive at the amazing Tsagaan Suvraga, also known as the White Stupa.

These cliffs are huge—about 30 meters tall and 100 meters wide—and the wind has been carving them into incredible shapes for thousands of years. From far away, Tsagaan Suvraga looks like the ruins of an ancient city, as if old buildings and towers were left behind by a long-lost civilization.

The area is full of history. You can find ancient drawings showing hunters chasing ibex with long bows, and petroglyphs of wild animals carved into stone. Some caves even have Turkic inscriptions, old seals, and mysterious symbols. There’s also a giant crack that cuts through the mountain, where you can see strange mud columns rising—it looks like the open mouth of a giant mythical creature!

Some of the caves here are deep, with twisty passages, and one even stretches more than 70 meters long. It’s like stepping into a natural maze.

Accommodation:

  • Nomadic family stay without facilities.  (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Activities:

  • Explore the amazing Tsagaan Suvarga cliffs and discover their towering rock formations, ancient carvings, and mysterious caves
  • 250 km, roughly a 5-hour drive through the dramatic Gobi landscapes to the towering White Stupa cliffs.
